CEBU CITY - CARCAR

Once you’ve arrived in Cebu City, the next step is to travel south to Carcar City. We recommend staying there, as the main base for the wedding celebration is in a resort in Carcar (Severa Boutique Resort).  There are 2 travel options available for the journey from the city.

How to get to Carcar​
​
OPTION 1: PUBLIC BUS

1. BOOK A GRAB RIDE

  • Open your Grab app and book a ride from Amani Grand Resort Residences to Cebu South Bus Terminal Entrance 2

  • The ride usually takes around one hour during peak traffic and costs approximately ₱650 in Grab.

 

2. AT THE BUS TERMINAL

  • Once you arrive, queue at the entrance to buy your bus ticket.

  • Inform the ticket staff that your destination is "Gaisano Carcar", and request an air-conditioned bus.

  • The ticket costs ₱95.​

 

3. BOARDING THE BUS

  • Proceed to Door 5, where your ticket will be scanned by an operator.

  • They’ll write your bus number on the ticket; use this to find the correct bus.

  • Do not lose your ticket; the bus conductor will check it during the ride.

 

4. DURING THE BUS RIDE

  • The trip from Cebu South Bus Terminal to Gaisano Mall Carcar typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

  • When the conductor checks tickets, mention that you’ll be getting off at Gaisano Mall Carcar; they know the place better, so they’ll remember and notify you when it’s your stop.

 

5. ARRIVAL IN CARCAR

  • Once you get off at Gaisano Mall Carcar, we’ll be there personally to escort you to your accommodation

OPTION 2: RENTING A VAN​

If everyone agrees on a common date to travel to Carcar City, we can arrange a shared van or a larger vehicle (such as a coaster) for transportation. This will make the trip more comfortable and allow everyone to easily bring their luggage and personal belongings.

The cost of the van can be shared among those who join, and we can also arrange for the same vehicle to bring everyone back to Cebu City after the wedding. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Getting around in Carcar​

If you’d like to get around Carcar and explore the south of Cebu before the wedding, we can help arrange a scooter rental. Just let us know, and we’ll send you the rental options and prices.​

There is a festival in Carcar City on November 25, with many festivities happening in the days leading up to it. We recommend coming before November 25 if possible so you can enjoy the celebrations.

November 25 – Kabkaban Festival in Carcar City
November 26 –  Pre-Wedding Celebration, a relaxed beach gathering for both families to get to know each other before the wedding

November 27 - Last Prep Day
November 28 – Wedding Day
November 29 – Rest Day
November 30 – Return to Cebu City​​​

Accommodation

Accommodation options in Carcar are quite limited, especially near the wedding reception venue. Airbnb is still very new in the area, so listings are few and often located far from the venue. Here are the options you can choose from: 

 

OPTION 1: Carcar Eco Farm Resorts

  • About 17-minute drive from Severa Boutique Resort

  • About 4-minute drive from Gaisano Mall

  • About 6-minute drive from our residence in Carcar (Tierra Nava Subdivision)

As a local, Shara personally recommends this option. It’s a full-service resort with experienced staff, good security, and facilities well suited for guests. Breakfast is included, there is a mini restaurant on-site, a swimming pool, and the resort can comfortably accommodate larger families. The downside of this place is that it's more expensive.

OPTION 2: Tierra Nava Subdivision

  • About 16-minute drive from Severa Boutique Resort

  • About 3-minute drive from Gaisano Mall

  • Located in the same area as our residence

There are only a few Airbnb options available here, but it’s still a good place to stay. It’s close to us, located inside a guarded subdivision, offers more space, and includes a kitchen if you prefer to cook during your stay. It is also more affordable than Carcar Eco Farm Resort.

NOTE: After booking an Airbnb, please make sure to call or message the host right away to confirm your reservation. Some listings may not be updated, as a few are rented long-term or hosts may forget to update their availability.

Travel Reminders

  • SUNSCREEN â€‹â€‹

  • Because the Kabkaban Festival takes place just days before the wedding, hotels in Carcar City tend to fill up quickly. It will be smarter to book your accommodation at least 1–2 months in advance to ensure availability.

  • The reason why we recommend the places is that they're closer to us and the reception venue. Places farther away are more likely to be affected by traffic, especially between November 24 and 25, when the city will be busier due to the festival.
